Spiritual Life
If you, like so many of us, hunger for a sense of meaning, depth, truth, and mystery— there is a place for you here.
Contemplative Prayer Group
Open to anyone interested in going within to reconnect with our truest nature. Each gathering begins with a reading (readings may be from contemporary poetry or wisdom writers, scripture, or world religions), followed by a time of silent meditation. We close with some informal sharing. Meets Thursdays at 7:30 AM, at MMC and on Zoom. Please contact Jim Bridges for more information.
Book Group
Meets monthly to discuss a book of spiritual, theological, or human importance. All are welcome (whether you’ve read the month’s book or not)! Recent reads include Richard Rohr’s The Tears of Things, Thich Nhat Hanh’s The Art of Living, and Saving Jesus From the Church. For questions, contact Joyce Martelli.
Art, Food & Spirituality
Classes are approximately once a month, with a different art project (accessible to all experience levels) offered each time. Contact Joyce Martelli.
Prayer Ministry
Would you like to be part of our team of faithful pray-ers? Join us in lifting up the needs of our community. When prayer requests arise, you’ll receive notifications so you can join in prayer support. To sign up, please contact Sue Gerber.
Spiritual Direction
An ancient discipline that has flourished through the centuries. Spiritual directors meet with clients (typically monthly) to be present as spiritual midwives, helping you to listen for what God is doing in the midst of your everyday life. Some people bring a particular question or challenging life passage to their time in direction; others simply benefit from this ongoing opportunity to dialogue with an open and wise companion (in Celtic spirituality, an anam cara) on the journey. If interested in meeting with a director at MMC, please contact the office.
Massage Ministry
In the spirit of a faith that is incarnational (affirming of the body), MMC member Ginny Weisel, a licensed massage therapist, offers her services on a sliding scale for the peace of body and soul. Please contact Ginny to schedule an appointment.
Labyrinth
A space of centering and walking meditation, located in the beautiful wooded area beyond our parking lot.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This ministry invites parishioners to knit or crochet shawls and blankets while lifting prayers for the recipient. Each handmade item becomes a “mantle of prayer” - bringing comfort, healing, or celebration to those who are sick, grieving, homebound, or welcoming a newborn.
We welcome shawls of all sizes. Completed items may be placed in the basket by the altar or delivered to the office
